Sealed systems, dual refrigeration, ice makers and wine storage. Factory-trained technicians, genuine Sub-Zero parts, same-day appointments across the Peninsula.
These units are cabinetry-fitted, dual-compressor machines with sealed refrigeration circuits. Pulling one out the wrong way damages the surround; opening a sealed system without the right certification and equipment turns a repairable fault into a replacement. We work on Sub-Zero every week, and we treat the kitchen around it as part of the job.
If your symptom is on this list, we have almost certainly fixed it on your model.
Dual refrigeration means two independent systems. A warm fresh-food compartment with a fine freezer usually points at that side's evaporator fan, defrost circuit or sealed system.
Condenser packed with dust, failed condenser fan, or a refrigerant charge that has leaked down. The unit keeps running because it can never reach setpoint.
Defrost heater, thermistor or control fault - or a door gasket that no longer seals, pulling warm humid air into the cabinet every hour of the day.
Water inlet valve, a frozen fill line, or a failed ice maker module. Common on built-ins where the water line runs through a cold section of cabinet.
Blocked defrost drain, split water line or a failing filter head. Left alone it reaches the flooring under the unit, which is the expensive part.
Control board, display module or power supply. On older Classic units the board is a known wear item and is repairable or replaceable with genuine stock.
Everything Sub-Zero builds is refrigeration in one form or another, and each one fails differently.
Built-in and integrated columns: not cooling, frost, noise, water leaks, sealed-system and control faults.
Freezer columns, undercounter drawers and combination units: over-freezing, ice sheets on the floor of the drawer, warm compartments.
Built-in ice machines with low output or freeze-ups, and wine columns drifting off temperature or losing a zone.
Plain explanations of the three faults we are called out for most, including what you can check yourself.
Seven causes behind a warm compartment, why one side can fail on its own, and how long food is safe.
No ice, hollow cubes or a frozen fill line - and the one test that halves the possibilities.
Why the ice comes back after you clear it, and what the speed of its return tells you.
We test the actual failure rather than swapping parts. You get the cause, the fix and the price before any work starts.
Common failures are fixed the same visit from stock on the van. Model-specific parts are ordered as genuine Sub-Zero, with a date you can plan around.
The unit is refitted properly, the kitchen is left clean, and parts and labor carry a written limited warranty.
We keep the service area tight on purpose, so a Sub-Zero call gets a technician the same day instead of a slot next week.
Call (424) 677-1522Usually yes. A built-in Sub-Zero is designed for a 20-year service life and is fitted to your cabinetry, so replacing it often means replacing the surrounding millwork too. We tell you what the repair costs before we start, and if a unit is genuinely past saving we will say so.
Most built-in Sub-Zero units use dual refrigeration - two separate cooling systems, one per compartment. When only one side fails, the cause is usually that compartment’s evaporator fan, defrost circuit or sealed system, not the whole appliance.
We stock the parts that fail most often - fans, gaskets, thermistors, water valves and ice maker components. Anything model-specific is ordered as genuine Sub-Zero stock, and we give you the timing at the first visit rather than after.
Yes. Classic built-ins, Designer integrated columns, PRO units, undercounter drawers and wine storage - including the panel-ready models installed flush with cabinetry.
